Kanye and Drake owe Hudson Mohawke money and he’s mad about it

Glasgow’s finest Hudson Mohawke took to Twitter last night to accuse Drake and Kanye of not paying him for production work, Pitchfork writes. He also threatened to release a zip file of “songs that I’ve done that I got 0 for”.

The producer later retracted the promise to leak tracks, and deleted the original tweet. “I love yous too much to put myself into a huge legal battle for no reason n prevent me releasing my own music,” HudMo tweeted. “I don’t have the $10 milly to deal w the consequences mainly heh.”

But he didn’t hold back from taking a couple of extra pot shots at the rap superstars. “So glad I have wonderful friends n family to stop me fully exposing frauds in this biz,” he tweeted. “Actually since being asked so many times “wats your advice to upcoming producers”… Mainstream rappers have less business sense than ur mum.”

HudMo’s work with Lunice as bass masters TNGHT famously brought them to the attention of Kanye and landed them co-producing slots on Yeezus and The Life Of Pablo; the Scottish maximalist also worked on cuts for Drake’s 2013 opus Nothing Was The Same.

And according to a tweet from the producer last night, he has “3 albums worth of gold” produced for megastar rappers, just sitting on his hard drive and waiting “til the day someone actually does thief my laptop.” Read through Hudson Mohawke’s tweets below.
