Here’s what’s happening to the club formerly known as Space Ibiza

2016 marked the end of an era for the White Isle when Space Ibiza, the club regularly voted #1 in the world, called it a day after 27 years of good times.

Now the time has come for the Ushuaïa Group, the venue’s new owners, to reveal their grand plans for Space 2.0: they’ll be relaunching the iconic club as Hï Ibiza, with the opening coming in May.

However you feel about Space’s reinvention, we think you’ll agree that Hï have locked in a first-rate resident for their 2017 season. Swedish titan Eric Prydz will stage his first ever Ibiza residency at the new superclub, bringing a bespoke show to Hï every Tuesday night. His residency will run for 10 weeks, beginning on June 20.

As for who Prydz is bringing with him? The likes of Matthew Dear, Kölsch, Pig & Dan, Agoria, Catz ‘N Dogz and Dusky will all appear as guests.

The owners of Hï seem keen to dispel the rumours that they’re planning to convert Space into a mainstream-leaning club like Ushuaïa. “The club formerly known as Space will be elevated to new heights, with a fresh new look and the most advanced sound and technologies on the island,” they announced in a press release.

“From May through September Hï Ibiza will play host to the finest selectors from the global electronic music scene.” Stay tuned to find out what else Hï have planned for 2017.
