Help a local dance industry legend get back to work

As a VJ, Jim Medcraft has worked on events like Stereosonic, Future Music Festival and Field Day, as well as touring with artists like Hayden James, The Aston Shuffle and Alison Wonderland.

After years of working for the Australian dance music industry, today Jim is asking for the industry’s help. At the start of the year, while on tour in Texas, he was hit by a car. The driver was never found, which means he’s never been able to claim any form of compensation. Then making matters worse, while Jim was undergoing multiple surgeries, someone stole the laptop and VJing gear he needs to work. Given he’s been off work since February, Jim doesn’t have the resources to replace the gear himself.

So he’s started a GoFundMe page to raise the money he needs to get back to work, which you can donate to over here. “People have being suggesting for months that I start a gofundme campaign for an electric wheelchair and now working laptop. I decided it was time to swallow my pride,” Medcraft writes. “Having stood on my feet for 1st time since February yesterday, the prospect of being able to get back to work again is finally feeling quite real… but not having the tools is going to be a real hurdle.”

Already, a cast of industry players – like onelove and Falcona – have donated to the cause. Head here to help out.
