Hear Tiga and Annie Mac go back-to-back on new Essential Mix

2014 has been a strong year so far from the BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix, whether you favour the cinematic scope of Porter Robinson, the hypnotic grooves of returning heroes Deep Dish, Tiesto in ‘after hours’ mode, or another of Pete Tong’s weekly guests. While Robinson’s 72-track studio mix from Saturday June 21 still has people talking, this past weekend saw the Essential Mix beaming out from the fields of iconic UK weekender Glastonbury.

While headliners like Metallica and Arcade Fire drew vast crowds to the Pyramid Stage, the festival’s set times presented a head-spinning array of choices for dance fans. At the infamous Shangri-La area, Radio 1 personality Annie Mac went back-to-back with one of her musical heroes, Tiga, and their set makes up the first section of the new Glastonbury-themed Essential Mix.

After the two DJs traded an hour of bumping house (including Tiga’s latest release ‘Bugatti’), it was over to a back-to-back set from Pete Tong and recent Essential Mix inductee Kolsch, followed by proven party-starters Jackmaster and Oneman. Listen to the full three-hour Essential Mix over at the Radio 1 site, or hit play on the Annie Mac/Tiga section below, via SoundCloud.
