At Vivid’s FCX – Future Classic’s two night celebration of ten years in the game – The Presets vocalist Julian Hamilton took the stage for a performance a world away from his rave roots. Midway through the live show from Flight Facilities, Hamilton sat down at a piano to cover Heart Attack, the latest single from Sydney pair Jimmy Lyell and Hugo Gruzman’s debut record.
If you weren’t there to see it live, you can now hear what you missed out on below. The Julian Hamilton rework is getting an official release as part of the Heart Attack remix EP – alongside that edit from Snakehips – and will be available through iTunes from tomorrow. And if you’re wondering how the cover came to be? As Flight Facilities revealed on Facebook last week, Hamilton co-wrote the original track with Jimmy and Hugo during the studio sessions for their record Down To Earth.
Next week Flight Facilities will play the 2015 edition of Splendour in the Grass, sharing the bill with local dance names like Peking Duk, Alison Wonderland, Carmada and internationals like Porter Robinson, Shlohmo, Mark Ronson and Blur.
