Hear the big single from Future Classic’s newest signing

Anything bearing the Future Classic seal of approval is worth a listen, but we’re especially excited about the label’s newest signing. Wafia is the project of 22-year-old Brisbane songwriter and vocalist Wafia Al-Rikabi, who has been building a following since 2012 with her Let Me Love You cover and guest spots on tracks from Japanese Wallpaper and Charles Murdoch.

Today, Future Classic have announced they’re officially bringing Wafia into the family with a debut EP set for release on November 20. For now, though, you can hear Heartburn, the killer lead single produced by her new labelmate Ta-ku. It’s not the first time the pair have teamed up – just last week, the dream duo hit #1 on the HypeMachine charts with a re-titled cover of Estelle classic American Boy.

Wafia will join Ta-ku on stage at New York’s MoMA PS1 this weekend and step up for vocals as part of his live show at New Year’s festivals Field Day, Southbound and Beyond the Valley. Hear how she handles Heartburn below.
