Hear Kaytranada and Alicia Keys link up on new track ‘Sweet F’in Love’
If there are two artists in the world that understand every nut and bolt of modern R&B production, it’s Kaytranada and Alicia Keys. It was only going to be a matter of time until one tapped the other for a collaboration – and luckily for us that moment has arrived, with the release of their smouldering dance cut Sweet F’in Love.
The track was dropped onto SoundCloud by Key’s husband – producer Swizz Beatz – a couple of nights ago. No word yet on whether the track will be getting an offical release. Kaytra aficionados will note that beat is actually a rework of one of his earlier tracks – 2013’s Hot Jazzybelle.
Keys released her critically acclaimed eighth album, Here, last November. Kaytranada’s own record, 99.9%, came out at the start of the year to equally favourable reviews, and ending up landing him the prestigious Polaris Music Prize. His track Glowed Up, landed at #4 in our best tracks of 2016 ranking.
To make his year even better, he surprised everyone back in September when he dropped new mix 0.001% as a bookend to the record. It featured a heap of new material, along with some select remixes: Usher’s U Don’t Have To Call and Chance The Rapper’s All Night, which Kaytranada himself produced. He hasn’t slowed down since then, putting out a bunch of remixes including reworks of TLC and Solange.
