Get to know Giorgio Moroder with Red Bull’s new documentary

Legends don’t come much bigger than Giorgio Moroder, dance music’s synth pioneer, disco hitmaker and, more recently, the voice of one of our favourite tracks on Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories. So when Giorgio came to Australia with Vivid Live earlier this year for three events presented by the Red Bull Music Academy, it was kind of a big deal.

If you missed out on Moroder’s visit – or if you want to relive it – you can now get stuck into Red Bull Music Academy’s brand new documentary The Music Of Moroder, which we’re screening exclusively today. Hit ‘play’ below and you can get stuck into seven minutes exploring Moroder’s work and the Heritage Orchestra’s adaptation of it for Vivid.

“Investigating Moroder’s music, it was like “I can’t believe that he did that, and that tune!” the Heritage Orchestra’s Chris Wheeler enthuses in the doco, talking through how the orchestra adapted Moroder classics like I Feel Love and Love to Love You Baby. “It was great to listen to his music and learn about it and see how someone has affected the world of music in the way that he has.” See The Music of Moroder for yourself below.
