Future Music Festival’s epic 2015 line-up is here

Every year, Future Music Festival up the ante with a line-up of music’s biggest (and often most elusive) names. Today, the national festival – which tours Australia this February and March – has delivered their 2015 bill and, we’re pleased to report, they’ve scored some major coups.

“Australia, the rumours are true!” FMF announced, revealing that rap superstar Drake is coming to town with his full band set-up. The Canadian visionary will be making his long overdue debut trip to Australia with Future Music Festival, after the game-changing success of his albums Thank Me Later, Take Care and Nothing Was The Same. Start bracing for the Hold On, We’re Going Home feels now.

That’s not all the firepower Future’s got lined-up: Avicii will be returning to Australia once more with the festival and by the time February rolls around, he’ll have a whole new album’s worth of anthems to share.

Future have also lined up two of electronic music’s best live performers for next year’s bill. The Prodigy will be bringing their incendiary show to the FMF stage again, as will South African rap-rave innovators Die Antwoord, back in the country for the first time in years.

Then there’s Animals hitmaker Martin Garrix, bass lords Nero, London identity Example, Dutchman Afrojack and rap talent 2 Chainz, to cherrypick a few of the huge names headed our way. As ever, Sven Vath will be back to lead the Cocoon Arena, joined by Art Department, Appollonia and Yellow Claw. Scroll down to take in the full line-up, and stay tuned for Future’s promised second announce.

Future have invested in production for 2015, locking in famous production designer James Klein – the man responsible for Miami’s Ultra Music Festival mainstage – to create the FMF stages. Expect “state-of-the-art sound, spine-tingling light rigs that’ll explode with pyrotechnic climaxes [and] new audio technologies to hit you in the stomach at every corner of our venues,” plus extra toilets and lots of bars.

Tickets start at $135 a pop and go on sale at noon, Thursday October 30, through the Future Music website.
