Future Entertainment and Mushroom Group announce “strategic alliance”

Future Entertainment – the touring juggernaut responsible for Future Music Festival, Summadayze and a year-round roster of headline shows – has announced it has formed a “strategic alliance” with The Mushroom Group, Australia’s largest independent music and entertainment group, and it’s subsidiary Frontier Touring.

From September 1, Future and Mushroom will team up to present Future Music Festival and its under-18s spin-off Good Life Festival, as well as ongoing roster of artist tours. So what does this mean for punters? “For Audiences, the partnership represents an even bigger and brighter future for FMF,” Future announced on their website. “It will present the world’s biggest and most diverse talent consistently and to a standard worthy of world-wide recognition. Audiences will see a clear focus on technology, state of the art production and a vision to create a highly interactive, well presented and truly enhanced festival experience.”

Mushroom and Future’s first joint venture will kick off mid-September, when Future have confirmed the 2014 Future Music Festival line-up will be unveiled. That’ll be followed by line-up announcements for both FMF’s Kuala Lumpur edition and under-18s spin-off Good Life, which will be expanding to Brisbane and Perth for the first time in 2014. “Ticket prices will be the best value in the market and popular incentive programs such as ‘book now and pay later’ and ‘Future Fans’ will continue to be offered so that the unique festival experiences are accessible to fans from all walks of life,” Future have assured.

Future’s also announced the FMF 2014 dates, with the festival tour kicking off in Brisbane on Saturday March 1 and rolling through Perth, Sydney and Melbourne before winding up in Adelaide. There is, however, no mention of Summadayze – the New Year’s festival which Future has taken around the country since 2008 and which typically announces its line-up mid-September.
