Four Tet locks in “all night” Sydney DJ set

Sydney, we have some very excellent news for you: London-based legend Four Tet has locked in an “all night” DJ set at Goodgod Small Club, set to go down in early February. Presented by Niche Entertainment, the Goodgod set will be the only chance for Sydney to see Kieren Hebden in club mode while he’s in the country for Laneway Festival early next year.

His last Sydney show was a sold out Metro Theatre date, but as the hardened Four Tet fan will tell you, Hebden’s best seen in an intimate club setting. According to the promoters, the Goodgod all-nighter will be his “first ever DJ appearance in Australia” – usually, he plays live. There’s no set times yet so we don’t know just how long he’s planning to be on the decks for, but the Brit’s set to bring some “special guests” along with him to round out the bill. Tickets are onsale now through Moshtix – and we don’t need to tell you that they’ll sell out in a flash.

He may be bringing a DJ set, but we’re confident you’ll get to hear a few cuts from Hebden’s new album Beautiful Rewind, his seventh to date, which arrived just a couple of weeks ago. Then, of course, he’s got that unparalleled back-catalogue to work through: from his more recent Pink and There Is Love In You albums through to his collaborations with full-time enigma Burial and the random bits of Soundcloud gold he’s delivered with impressive frequency over the years, Four Tet’s earned his reputation as one of dance music’s best-ever producers. So mark February 6 in your diary, take the next day off work, grab your ticket and start the countdown.
