Flume sells out big shows; adds more

Confirming just how sharp his rise has been, Flume sold out his shows at the Hordern in Sydney and Festival Hall in Melbourne just 15 minutes after tickets went on-sale to the general public at 10am this morning. Second shows in Sydney and Melbourne are on-sale now. Tickets to Adelaide and Perth will go soon; Brisbane Riverstage is selling fast.

These shows will be his first-ever national headline tour and will feature a entirely new stage production and extended set. Flume will be joined by fellow collaborator Chet Faker. Called the ‘Infinity Prism Tour’, Flume’s big spin of the country isn’t doing things by halves, as evidenced by the massive venues like Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and Melbourne’s Festival Hall. So what is the infinity prism? The official word is that it’s a device that “references the kaleidoscopic imagery of his album cover in a live context by way of a hexagonal infinity mirror embedded with LED lights, that will feature in both the live show and also forthcoming trilogy of video clips”.

With the local charts safely dominated, Flume’s been turning his attention to the Northern Hemisphere lately. First, there was a European tour and his mix for US website Fader. Then there was his Boiler Room set in London and a sold out gig at the city’s famous XOYO club. Now in his latest step towards world domination, Harley Streten’s setting off soon for a tour of the U.S.
