It’s been a good week for punters in Perth. Fresh off the back of Tuesday’s news that Jamie xx will be teaming up for a one-off show with UK innovator Four Tet, Western Australia’s scored another show sure to be the envy of the east coast.
This time, it’s rave legend Fatboy Slim pairing up with UK gun James Zabiela for one night at the Red Hill Auditorium on Friday, January 22. The venue promises to be spectacular: “Settled within the John Forrest National Park with sweeping views over the ocean and city, it’s the largest purpose built outdoor concert venue in Western Australia, with a capacity of 5000,” promoters advise. “This is an intimate mini-festival where everyone sees the show.”
The Fatboy Sim and James Zabiela double-header is a sideshow of sorts to Electric Gardens, the new festival hitting Sydney on Australia Day with John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Henry Saiz and Nick Warren on the bill alongside Fatboy Slim and Zabiela. Tickets to the Perth show are on sale now for $99 a pop.
