EMC is bringing Amsterdam’s Night Mayor to Sydney

The Electronic Music Conference has just revealed their first keynote speaker for 2016 and it’s someone Sydney desperately needs to meet.

Mirik Milan, the Night Mayor of Amsterdam, will be coming to Australia with EMC to talk about the successes of Amsterdam’s nightlife policies and how other countries can implement similar solutions. Milan will open the conference with a keynote address that will also touch on the success of the Night Mayor model in cities like Paris, Zurich and Tolouse.

For EMC, bringing Milan out is all about helping Sydney achieve a vibrant and safe nightlife. A Night Mayor is something anti-lockouts group Keep Sydney Open have been calling on the NSW Government to implement for months.

This year, EMC events will run for a full five days, kicking off with opening drinks on Monday November 28 and winding up with industry soccer tournament Musica Copa on Friday December 2. During that week, EMC will throw parties around the city, hold drinks where you can network with the industry’s power players and host keynote talks from A-list artists, roundtable discussions on the dance music’s hot-button issues and production tutorials where emerging artists can learn to sharpen their skills.

The conference portion of EMC’s program happens at Sydney’s ivy complex on November 29 and 30 with the full speaker line-up to be announced in the coming months.

If you listen to or work in dance music, EMC is a must. Grab an EMC ticket now – prices start at just $99 and the earlier you book, the less you’ll pay.
