Dissect Sydney’s music scene at a free event this month

Over the past month or so, global edu-company General Assembly have been running a series of events called Made In Sydney, aiming to showcase industry innovators in the harbour city. So far, they’ve covered how to make it in the crammed Sydney hospitality scene; and run a session on the world of design thinking.

Now, the final instalment of the series is coming up , and this time around it’s the music industry under the microscope. Music Makers & Innovators is a free event that will dissect and celebrate Sydney’s music scene, happening at aMBUSH gallery in Chippendale on September 29 at 6pm.

The panel discussion will be moderated by FBi’s Dom O’Connor, and he’ll be joined by a heap of well known locals: Chad Gillard (co-founder of Future Classic); Mark Gerber (Oxford Art Factory); Adam Maggs (Ableton brand manager and Liveschool co-founder); Katie Rynne (Select Music); and DJ Adi Toohey.

At such a critical point in Sydney’s nightlife and industry, it’s perhaps more timely than ever to discuss just what exactly makes Sydney’s music scene so great – and just how we can keep it that way. If you’re keen to hear the inside skinny on the local industry, this is definitely going to interest you.

Brews will be provided by local legends Young Henry’s, and DJ Adi Toohey will jump on the decks as well. For more info, and to sign up for the event, head over here.
