Dirty South made a movie and you can watch it now

From his Melbourne beginnings, Dragan Roganović – Dirty South to his fans – has come a long way. With two Grammy nominations and a handful of Beatport number ones already to his name, earlier this year the Australian export upped the ante once more and signed with powerhouse U.S. label Astralwerks. And you best believe he’s putting that major label funding to good use.

On November 4, Dirty South will release his second album, With You, but he’s got something else to share before then. Today, the expat released a flashy, 38-minute short movie of the same name, made to give context to the music on the album. “The beginning was the album,” he explains, “I made ten tracks, and when I listened back to them I thought, ‘Wow, this sounds like the score to a movie that hasn’t been made yet’. And that’s when I started putting a team together and trying to make it happen.”

Head to iTunes now and you’ll be able to pick up your copy of the With You short film for a very reasonable $1.99 (or you could pay an extra dollar and land it in HD).

If the plot description’s any indicator, you can expect things to get touchy-feely: “A young boy falls in love with a girl from another planet, who has the unique ability to heal things,” iTunes outlines. “When they kiss for the first time he finds out she also has the ability to take life away. He survives, but is robbed of his memory of her and we catch up with him 20 years later.

“Now a struggling artist, he grapples with the memory of his only love and sets out on a quest to find her once more.” See it for yourself on iTunes now, or watch the trailer below.
