Diplo goes psychedelic on new single ‘About That Life’

Between work as Major Lazer, producing for everyone ever (Usher, Azealia Banks, Pharrell, No Doubt, Snoop Dogg, Scissor Sisters, etc), running his label Mad Decent and keeping up a busy tour schedule, Diplo hasn’t actually found the time to release a record of his own since 2004. But that’s all to change with the announcement that dance music’s everywhere-man is prepping a new album for release sometime in the near-ish future. The first single from the follow-up to Florida was the ass-popping Express Yourself and now, we’ve just been given our second taste of the forthcoming LP.

The clip for About That Life hit the web this morning, a sixties-sounding psychedelic jam featuring vocals from former Mad Decent signee Popo’s frontman Jahan Lennon. It might not be what you’d expect of the man whose favoured dancehall sounds lately, but as with all things Diplo it’s very well done.
