Deadmau5 just accused Krewella of fake DJing…and got proven wrong

Deadmau5 might not be playing at Ultra Music Festival this year but, like many of us, he’s watching on from afar with the help of the live stream. The final day of UMF 2015 boasts plenty to be excited about – from Eric Prydz weaving his magic to Knife Party’s performance and Skrillex’s still-to-come closer – but this year, the set that captured Joel Zimmerman’s attention belonged to Krewella.

As sisters Jahan and Yasmine Yousaf took the Ultra Mainstage – playing their biggest show since parting ways with former collaborator Kris ‘Rainman’ Trindl – Deadmau5 offered his own commentary on Twitter, and you can bet it wasn’t encourgaing. His grievance? Zimmerman thought Krewella hadn’t plugged in their CDJs.

But it didn’t take long for Krewella to hit back with the photographic evidence to prove that there were, in fact, two USBs plugged into the CDJs. Not that their response lightened Zimmerman’s mood: “Your technical prowess is as apparent as the fuck I give,” he replied, before turning his attention to mocking Krewella’s storage device of choice.

This isn’t the first time he’s taken aim at the Yousaf sisters. Last year, Deadmau5 took a very public swipe at the pair after they split from Kris Trindl, prompting Jahan Yousaf to respond with a striking op-ed for Billboard writing that she doesn’t see “enough people challenging the intolerance that deadmau5 preaches to his 3 million followers.”

Deadmau5 is still at it on Twitter, so head to his page to watch all the drama unfold.
