When Dutch mega-festival Sensation announced it’d be coming back to Australia in 2017, we knew to expect big things. But we didn’t know just how big ID&T were planning to go — until today.
Sensation have just revealed their 2017 festival will be headlined by none other than Deadmau5, who’ll be making his first trip to Australia since Future Music Festival 2014. More exciting still, Sensation will mark the Australian debut of his new and improved Cube 2.1 show.
For a one-off event, Sensation will hit the Sydney Showgrounds on Saturday, November 25. It’s the first time the festival brand has held an Australian event in seven years — Sensation was last in Australia for a two year run in 2009 and 2010, where it brought in the New Year at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium. (And yes, in 2017 there’s still an all-white dresscode.)
Sensation is the brainchild of ID&T, the festival giants who also put on Belgium’s world-famous Tomorrowland and Dutch EDM fest Mysteryland — an event that was previously rumoured to have Australia in its sights.
We’ll have to wait another few weeks for the rest of Sensation’s 2017 line-up — but if their first announce is anything to go by, we’re in for a big one.
