Calvin Harris drops the brand new banger ‘My Way’

There are no quiet years in the life of Calvin Harris, but 2016 is shaping up to be a particularly busy one for the Scottish hitmaker.

In the last few months alone, Calvin has watched his Rihanna collaboration This Is What You Came For top charts around the globe – it’s gone a whopping four times platinum here in Australia – he’s teamed up with Dizzee Rascal on Hype, and topped the Forbes list of the world’s highest-paid DJs once more.

Now he’s released the new single My Way – a track that features Calvin’s own vocals.

But while the internet is linking the song’s lyrics to his recent high profile split with Taylor Swift, Calvin says it’s actually about leaving a dead end supermarket job in Scotland. “It’s breaking out of a situation. I thought of the concept years ago, when I left [grocery chain] Safeway,” Harris said in a radio interview. “I was trying to move to London and I was working in the store in Scotland; I was trying to go on and make music for a living but I couldn’t because I didn’t have any money.”

“I was like, damn this grocery store! If I could break out of this I could have enough time to work on music and get good.” Hear him belt it out on My Way below.
