Burial will release a new EP this December

There’ll be an early Christmas present for fans of gorgeous moody dubstep that channels the history of UK jungle into ethereal soundscapes. Mysterious and brilliant producer Burial has announced a new three-track EP, due to drop on Hyperdub on Monday December 16.

His last full length album Untrue in 2007 propelled the then-unnamed UK producer into the limelight and was proclaimed by some as one of that year’s finest albums and by others as one of the greatest albums of all time.

Since Untrue, the man we now know as Will Bevan has released a series of mini-EPs, including collaborations with Four Tet, Thom Yorke and Massive Attack, culminating in last year’s acclaimed EPs Kindred and Truant/Rough Sleeper. And now, according to an announcement by label Hyperdub, we’ll have his next three-track, 28-minute sonic experiment in two week’s time. In the meantime, here’s his acclaimed 12-minute opus from last year Kindred to tide you over.
