Stalwart Sydney party-starters Bag Raiders have been tackling the US in a big way in 2014, hitting tour dates across the country in addition to turning out dancefloor-ready remixes for the likes of BANKS and Kimbra. This NYE season, though, Chris Stacey and Jack Glass will be back in the country to play new Victorian festival Beyond The Valley alongside AlunaGeorge, Action Bronson, Dillon Francis and a bunch more acts. Before that, though, they’re playing Melbourne’s Anyway on November 29, so we hit up Jack Glass from the duo to find out which five tracks are killing it in their sets right now.
“I love how raw this tune is. Right now it’s the vocal that always gets stuck in my head the day after we DJ somewhere. And that’s usually a sign that a track is rad (or awful). But this one’s rad.”
“Late night party killer here. I love how simple this tune is but at the same time there’s so much emotion in it. The best dance music is always this way – not many changes. But when something does change, it feels amazing!”
“I recently saw Terje play live at FYF fest in LA and it reminded me just how much of a bona fide jam this tune is. We used to rinse it back in the day and since seeing him I’ve resurrected it and put it at the front of my record bag (read: USB stick).”
“This one is a guaranteed winner. Awesome NRG. One of those tracks I didn’t realise exactly how good it was until I tried it out in the club for the first time. Now it’s on high rotation.”
“Purple Disco Machine are kings amongst men right now. I could easily have included The Path, their tune with Teenage Mutants, I’m still playing their Dino Lenny remix a year after it came out, and pretty much everything they touch turns to gold. Right now it’s this remix that I’m loving in the club.”
