Australia’s new music festival has an $18,000 ticket

Today, Storm Electronic Music Festival — the international mega-event that announced its Australian expansion earlier this year — revealed the first act on their 2017 bill.

Ephwurd, the brainchild of bass dons Datsik and Bais Haus, will be there when Storm touches down on Saturday December 9 at Sydney’s Parramatta Park. But that’s not the only bit of info Storm had for Australian audiences today — follow their pre-sale ticket link and you’ll find that the entry to the festival comes at some eyebrow-raising price points.

Just how much are we talking? Well, the ‘VVIP Front Row’ package will set you back a cool $18,900. Yep, that’s eighteen thousand dollars.

However the package isn’t as steep it might first seem. For that $18K, you’ll get 20 tickets — which works out at $945 a head. You’ll also score a special VIP designated table, hosted service, an “incredible view” of the Storm mainstage, a luxury yacht transfer from Darling Harbour to the event and dedicated fast track entry at the site. Then there’s six bottles of premium champagne per table, two bottles of premium spirits and mixers, and canapés.

If your credit card limit doesn’t quite reach $18,900, you might want to consider Storm’s two more-affordable VIP packages: the VVIP Mid Row at $14,700 and the VVIP Back Row at a comparatively cheap-as-chips $10,500.

And if you’re looking to do it on the cheap? Regular Storm early-bird tickets will set you back just $90, but you’ll have to make do without the canapés.
