Australia’s brand new Babylon Festival drop their 2017 line-up
For the past week, Australia’s brand new festival Babylon has been teasing its debut line-up. In a drip feed, promoters revealed that techno wizard Planetary Assault Systems, Israeli psytrancers Infected Mushroom and UK journeyman Lee Burridge would all be at their inaugural event in March 2017.
Today the full Babylon line-up has landed and just like those early names, it’s seriously first rate stuff. Dirtybird don Claude VonStroke, mau5trap recruit Feed Me, Polish selector Magda, Rotterdam prodigy Joris Voorn and Gallic techno gun The Hacker are all on the bill, joined by the likes of Pleasurekraft, Fur Coat and Danny Daze. With locals like Late Nite Tuff Guy (aka DJ HMC) and Melbourne legend Boogs also locked in to play, the programming is on-point from top to bottom.
But the music isn’t all those making the Babylon pilgrimage have to look forward to: the festival is also promising wellness and mindfulness workshops like yoga and meditation, plus market stalls, a food village and stunning natural backdrops. And you can count on things running smoothly – promoters have pledged that Babylon will “set [the] benchmark for organisation” for bush-based festivals.
Babylon will take place at two wilderness locations over the Labour Day long weekend, inside the Kara Kara National Park in Victoria and in the Capertee Valley in New South Wales. General camping is included in the cost of a Babylon ticket, with first release passes currently going for $199 + BF. Grab them here and take in the full line-up below.
