Armin’s ASOT 600 tour complete; from Madrid to Madison Square Garden

With fans in every corner of the globe, it’s no surprise that trance’s leading man Armin van Buuren seems to be in a perpetual state of touring. Just look at his upcoming ASOT 600 dates: kicking off next month, the Armada head will be taking in no less than four continents in honour of his 600th A State of Trance radio broadcast. Armin revealed back in October that he’ll be hitting Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Beirut, Kuala Lumpur and New York and over the past couple of months, he’s added Belarus, Mumbai, Miami and more to the now eight-week trip. During this week’s ASOT radio show, Armin revealed the final stop in the tour: a Valentine’s Day pre-party in Madrid.

But there’s one other pretty significant part of the tour Armin hadn’t revealed from the get-go. While New York has always been on the itinerary, until recently the venue was kept under wraps. Turns out, Armin’s not doing things by halves – he’s booked in the 20,000-capacity Madison Square Garden for his stop in the Big Apple. That makes him only the second DJ to ever grace the iconic arena, the first of course being the three-headed Swedish House Mafia at the end of 2011. While Australia was skipped over on this tour, there’s still some good news for those in our neck of the woods hoping to get a peek at the “biggest” ASOT tour yet. Seven of the twelve shows will be broadcast live – fingers crossed, Madison Square is one of them.

Two arena line-ups have been locked in for the grand finale in the enormous Brabanthallen of Den Bosch, The Netherlands. One of those stages is coined ‘Who’s Afraid Of 138?’, with an emphasis on the “harder, faster” side of trance. Armin will play a slot there, alongside Aly & Fila, Arctic Moon, Bryan Kearney, Indecent Noise, James Dymond, John Askew and John O’Callaghan. On this week’s A State Of Trance Episode 595, Armin premiered The Expedition, the ASOT 600 anthem he produced with Markus Schulz, and you can listen in the YouTube embed below.
