20 year old girl dies after Good Vibrations
A 20 year old Sydney woman has tragically died following the Good Vibrations Festival on the weekend. Annabel Catt was rushed to Mona Vale Hospital from a house in the northern beaches suburb of Warriewood at 5am on Sunday morning, February 18th. Reportedly suffering respiratory distress, Annabel had attended the Sydney leg of the Good Vibrations tour on Saturday February 17th.
Having taken MDMA (ecstasy), she died shortly after being admitted to hospital in the early hours of Sunday. Morris Iemma – the NSW Premier – has called for an explanation from the police media unit in the wake of the tragedy, following claims that the information was delayed in being made public, with initial reports now surfacing until a day after Annabel’s death. SMH.com.au reported that Iemma remarked, “I’d want a satisfactory explanation as to why it didn’t go out. If they’ve got knowledge that there’s a bad batch [of ecstasy] out there then the public quite rightly would be expecting to be told about that.”
