A 12-year-old has won DMC’s World DJ Championship

Sorry, A-Trak, but your record has just been smashed.

A 12-year-old scratch artist by the name of DJ Rena has taken out DMC’s World DJ Championship in London last night, becoming the youngest winner in the 30-year history of the competition.

He took over the record from A-Trak, who famously won back in 1997 when he was just 15. Rena now joins the ranks of previous winners such as DJ Craze, Mixmaster Mike, and Cash Money. Rena beat out competitors from over 16 countries to take home the gong; French spinner DJ Skillz and New Zealand’s DJ Spell came in at #2 and #3, respectively.

See just how Rena took out the prize below — his routine starts from the 54-minute mark.
